Bob and Kurt - Alaska Bound
Welcome!
For those of you who don't know, Kurt and Bob are old high school friends. They met in 1953 while attending Hammond High School in Hammond, Indiana. After graduation from high school, they went to different universities, Indiana University for Kurt and Purdue University for Bob. They stayed in contact while in school for the next four years and, at one time, they talked about taking a year off and driving to Alaska. Fortunately, they made the wise decision to stay in school. After graduation, they went their separate ways, Kurt to teach high school in Iowa and Bob to begin his Marine Corps career. They reconnected briefly after Bob's first Vietnam tour in 1967 and that was it for 37 years when, thanks to the Internet, they met up again. The old idea of a trip to Alaska came up again, and this time the two decided to go for it. So here we go.
